Michael Alexander - Special Adviser

Mike was previously CEO of British Energy plc and COO of Centrica plc.  He is an operator with extensive senior executive management experience and has more than 11 years’ experience as a FTSE 100 board member.  He is ideally placed to assist EGS Energy as it moves towards the operational stage of the proposed EGS power plant at The Eden Project.

Specifically, his 40+ years in the energy industries - oil/gas/coal/nuclear – will provide the depth of industry background for the board of the Company as it takes forward geothermal energy projects in the UK and elsewhere.

Mike Alexander has led companies of considerable consumer, political, commercial and industrial importance in the UK.  He is used to balancing shareholder interests with those of society, regulators and employees to achieve strategic and economic performance improvement.

He is currently: a non-executive director of Costain plc; an independent non-executive director of the UK Payments Council; and a European Advisory Board director of Landis + Gyr AG.  He has taken the role of Special Adviser for the moment during this Development Phase.
